Losing Weight With Meat Diets - Helpful Or Harmful?

Some of the popular fad diets suggest people increase meat intake, especially ones that suggest you have low-carb diets. For example the Atkins diet, which suggests you follow a diet that's high in fat, low on carbohydrates. The idea behind this diet is that increasing your protein intake is the best way to lose weight, and meat is the best source for protein. But is this really true? Here I'll tell you how much meat can help you lose that extra weight.

Fad diets like the Atkins diet often play on peoples ignorance. The truth is different than what the supporters of these fad diets would want you to believe. You lose extra weight by burning more calories than you take in, not by increasing your protein intake!

Plus, some kinds of meat are not good for your health, and some meats can actually make you gain weight. For example, ham, bacon, pepperoni, fried chicken, salami, etc., contain a lot of calorie content. Will you lose weight by taking in more calories? Of course not! If you do this, you'll just add to your pounds. This is why I doubt that a high amount of meat consumption can help anyone lose any amount of weight, but just helps you gain weight.

Also, if you eat a bunch of meat frequently, it will damage your kidneys and block your arteries, plus it can also damage your digestive system because when you take in a bunch of meat, it likes to rot in your colon. There's more! Not only does meat poison your bloodstream, it can also cause harmful diseases like cancer and diabetes. As you can see, meat is not at all your friend! It's best to eat meat sparingly.

Also, if you plan to get all the protein from your meat, you need to eat it either raw or boiled. When you cook meat with all kinds of spices, eating meat won't do you good because a lot of that protein is being washed away during the cooking process! If you think a high protein intake will help you lose extra weight, then be sure to remember that it's always how much protein that counts, not where it comes from. Also remember that you'll be able to get way more protein from natural foods like seeds and nuts than meat can ever give you! Whole foods will give you all the protein it needs, and at the same time it won't even harm you!
